Our members have not only built ships over the years, but, with credit union backing, they have built homes, raised families, educated their children and enjoyed a higher standard of living than would have otherwise been possible.

BayPort has a strong legacy in the credit union industry, as well. In 1953, officers of our state-chartered credit union were responsible for the organization of the Hampton Roads Chapter of the Virginia Credit Union League. Our volunteers and employees continue to serve on committees and as officers and directors on both the local and state levels. We actively support state and national legislative actions affecting the credit union movement.

With branches throughout Hampton Roads, employees are encouraged to give back to their local communities through volunteer service. As a result, BayPort employees volunteer more than 2,000 hours supporting community causes across the entire greater Hampton Roads area.
