The funds in the account must be available for use, not just on deposit. The transaction history does not reflect any funds held on the account, so you must check your transaction history to determine what was available.

Several transactions can cause the funds to be held and not be available to use:

    • Depositing a check which may be subject to a hold.
    • MasterCard Debit Card credit transactions in which the merchant runs an authorization that places a hold on the amount.
    • BayPort Credit Union personal check you issued and that your payee cashed in branch.
  1. All ATM deposits as a result of the hold policy.

It may be one or a combination of these transaction types that were holding funds at the time another transaction attempted to pay. The most common is the MasterCard Debit Card used as credit. Click here for more information about how using credit effects your checking account balance
