Card Controls is a tool that allows you to service your BayPort credit and debit cards within online banking and mobile banking!

Where do I find It?

Card Controls is located under the Manage Money navigation in Online Banking and on the "More" page in BayPort's Mobile Banking app.

TIP FOR MOBILE USERS: If you have multiple BayPort cards tap the circle at the bottom right of the card space to access and view all your cards. To view all the available card management options select “View All”. 


Card Controls Features


Edit Nicknames

Tap the pencil icon to edit the card nickname.


Card Status On/Off 

Click the Card Status slider to  to turn a card on or off.

When the card is turned on:

  • The card on/off status icon is green and card status is active/ON
  • The card can be used for all approved transactions.

When the cars is turned off:

  • You will be asked to confirm your intention to turn the card off.
  • The card On/Off icon is red and the card status is inactive/OFF
  • All transactions except reoccurring payments, deposits, and credits are denied.


Report Lost/Stolen

Select the report lost/stolen button to report your card lost or stolen to BayPort. If your card has been suspended by BayPort you will be unable to perform this action within card management, to report a suspended card as lost or stolen please contact BayPort at (757) 928-8850 or (800) 928-8801.

To report your card lost/ stolen:

  1. Click on the Report lost/ stolen button
  2. Confirm the action
  3. Indicate whether there was fraud, if the PIN was stolen and if you would like a replacement card.
  4. Confirm the action

Card Status On/Off 

Select the card on/off control to turn a card on or off.

When the card is turned on:

  • The card on/off status icon is green and card status is active/ON
  • The card can be used for all approved transactions.

When the cars is turned off:

  • You will be asked to confirm your intention to turn the card off.

Alerts & Controls

Alerts & Controls allows you set up transaction alerts and block specific types of transactions.

Send Alert Settings:

  • All transactions- Will send alerts for all transactions processed
  • Preferred transactions- Will trigger an alert for the selected alert categories.
  • Blocked transactions only- Will trigger an alert for all blocked/decline transactions.

Alert Categories

Merchant Types- Use the merchant types control to specify the types of transactions/ businesses at which your card can be used. Select the merchant type you would like to set and turn alerts on/ off. To prevent in-store transactions for a specific merchant type you can also select to decline transactions from this merchant type.  

Transaction Type- Use the transaction type control to specify the types of transactions that may be made with your card. (i.e. in-store, online, mail/phone order)

Location Type- Use the locations control to specify the geographical areas in which your card may be used.

Spend Limits- Use the spend limits control to set a limit on how much can be spent on one transaction or in one month (the amount must be greater than 0).

To set customized declines and alerts:

  1. Select set declines and alerts button
  2. Set the send alerts for: toggle  to preferred transactions
  3. Select the alert category
  4. Select the alert sub-category that you want to enable and click the on/off toggle for “decline transaction” and “send alerts” based on which action you would like to enable.

**If "All transactions" has been selected from the [send alerts for] drop down box, the alert toggle will be set to ON but slightly grayed out (you cannot set alert to all and turn off a specific subcategory). If Blocked Transactions is selected, the alert toggle will also be ON but grayed out for transactions you have elected to decline as blocked transactions will always trigger an alert.


Alert Delivery Options 

The alert delivery option allows you to manage how your alerts are sent for each card. All alert channels will default to ON. You may toggle any combination of delivery channels on and off as long as at least one is ON. The email and SMS numbers displayed in this section are those already authenticated within online banking for alerts and notifications.

Push Notifications:

  • Will send a BayPort CU push notification.
  • You must have “Push Notifications” enabled from the settings menu of the BayPort mobile app for this alert destination to work.  

To enable push notifications-

  1.  Log into BayPort mobile app
  2. Select the more navigation tab in the bottom right corner.
  3. Select the gear icon in the  top right corner of the more screen
  4. Select Push Notifications
  5. Turn on the “interact messages” toggle

 

SMS Text Alerts:

  • Will send your alerts via text message to the phone number that you have enrolled in text banking. If you do not have have not enrolled in text banking you will need to enroll in order to receive your card alerts via SMS Text Messages.

 

Emil Address:

  • Will send your alerts to the primary email used in online banking.

To update either of these destinations or add new phone numbers for SMS- 

  1. Log into online banking.
  2. Select My settings in the top right corner.
  3. Select Alerts & Notifications at the bottom page.
  4. Select “Update” or “Change or add number” and input desired information.
  5. Select Save  
If you are currently a Card Command user and want use BayPort's Online/Mobile Banking Card Controls tool BayPort advises that you unsubscribe from the Card Command app to prevent duplicate alerts from both the Card Command and BayPort apps. Follow the below steps to unsubscribe from the Card Command app- 
                       
        1. Login to your Card Command app
        2. Select the list icon in the top right corner 
        3. Select Manage Portfolio 
        4. Uncheck all of your cards and select save 
        5. CardCommand will then show the following message “ If you decide not to check any items, you will be                         unsubscribed from the services” 
        6. Select unsubscribe. 

**Please Note: your alerts will not carry over from the Card Command app you will have to manually reset your alerts in the Online/Mobile Banking Card Controls tool.

Travel Notifications 

The Set Travel Notices feature allows you to submit real-time Travel Notifications for your active BayPort Debit/Credit cards to help prevent your card from being declined or blocked due to suspicious activity while traveling. Travel notices can only be added to cards with in an active state

Eligible Cards:

  • All active BayPort Credit and Debit cards listed on your account.
  • Travel notices cannot be added to cards that are inactive or have been turned off.

Set Travel Notice: 

You can submit a travel notification within Online and Mobile Banking via the Set a Travel Notice link or the Set Travel Notice Button in Card Controls.

  • The Set Travel Notice link allows you to manually select the cards you would like to submit a travel notification for while the Set Travel Notice button by default adds the selected card.
  • The Set a Travel Notice link will not display in the mobile app, only the button.


    Criteria for setting a travel notice-

  • Selected Cards
  • Start Date
  • End Date
  • Destination(s)
  • Only 1 travel notice can be set per card.
  • Adding a travel notice to a card that already has a notice set will overwrite the existing travel information.

View Travel Notices:

You can view, edit and delete Travel Notices via the Card Controls landing page in Online and Mobile banking as well as the View Travel Notices link displayed at the top of Card Controls page in Online Banking.

  • The Card Controls page allows you to view, edit and deleted the travel notices for the selected card.
  • The View Travel Notices link allows you to view, edit and delete travel notices for all cards.

        **Only future/ scheduled travel notices can be edited. If any updates of changes need to be made to an ongoing travel notice, you can simply submit a new one to overwrite the old information.

  • Destinations that display as “Unknown” indicate that the travel notice was manually entered by BayPort staff per contact request. (Member requested via call, online chat or branch visit.)

User Information


Currently BayPort's Online/ Mobile Banking Card Controls service is only available for primary account and primary card holders. Unfortunately Joint card holders, shared access users and business banking users are unable to use the service at this time. 

  • Joint card holders, shared access users and business banking users are still able to manage their own cards using the Card Command app. Joint card holders and shared access users can also allow the primary account holder to manage joint cards as primary card/account holders will see all of the open active cards listed on their account.
